Build a copywriting portfolio for creator agencies

A creator-agency copywriting portfolio should show how you solve a brief, not just how polished a sentence sounds. Include the offer, audience, approved voice, draft, revision and reasoning. SFW samples are accepted for Bunny’s copywriter vacancy. Fictional work is useful when clearly labeled and presented without invented performance claims.

Choose evidence that matches the role

Start with the vacancy’s actual deliverables. Bunny’s caption and script copywriter develops persona guides, PPV caption variants, segmented sequences and usable libraries for chat team leads. Map each sample to one of those skills. A long collection of unrelated articles may demonstrate writing fluency without showing direct-response judgment or the ability to maintain an approved creator voice.

Build a small portfolio with a clear reading order. Lead with the strongest relevant piece, follow with a contrasting voice and finish with a sequence or test plan. Give each sample a short introduction explaining whether it is a permitted client example, an anonymized reconstruction or a fictional exercise. The reader should not have to infer which work was commercially used or which outcomes you can verify.

Choose breadth through different decisions rather than different industries alone. A product email can show offer clarity; a brand guide can show voice control; a retention sequence can show restraint and stop rules. Explain the connection to the vacancy without pretending that ordinary product copy was adult-industry client work.

Make a fictional sample pack reviewers can inspect

Use a fictional adult travel creator whose approved voice is warm, concise and lightly playful. The fictional product is a members’ travel journal with five written entries. It is available to eligible members, is not a private conversation and is not exclusive to one buyer. The persona dislikes pet names and personal meeting promises. Use [approved price] rather than inventing commercial terms.

Create a one-page voice guide, five caption variants and a three-message re-engagement sequence. For each caption, record the idea being tested: a reading break, a fresh perspective or a convenient collection. Preserve the product facts across variants. For the sequence, define eligibility, existing-buyer exclusions, contact preferences and the event that stops later messages. This gives the reviewer a complete system to evaluate.

Keep the pack non-explicit and text-only. You do not need imagery to demonstrate structure. Include one rejected draft and explain why it failed the brief. A visible correction can show stronger judgment than a portfolio in which every first attempt is presented as perfect. Make the exercise useful without suggesting the fictional product or creator actually exists.

Explain process and results separately

For a real sample shared with permission, describe the starting problem, your contribution, the constraints and the change. Then present results only if you have evidence and permission. Identify the denominator, observation window and other campaign changes. A higher click rate is not automatically better purchasing behavior, and a before-and-after comparison does not isolate the effect of one sentence.

If you cannot share data, say so. Explain how you would evaluate the copy rather than creating plausible-looking figures. A test plan can show measurement skill without inventing an outcome. Define a primary metric, a quality safeguard, the eligible audience and the allocation method. Describe the conditions under which you would revise, stop or leave the result inconclusive.

Use a simple case-study layout: brief, constraint, draft, feedback, revision, evidence and limitation. This structure lets a reviewer distinguish craft from claims. Avoid percentage improvements with no base counts. A fictional calculation should be labeled beside the figures, not hidden in a disclaimer at the end of the document.

Protect information before sharing the link

Check the sharing rights of every item. A former client’s approval to publish a finished campaign does not necessarily authorize sharing internal briefs, performance dashboards or subscriber research. Removing names may still leave identifying details. Prefer a new fictional exercise when permission is uncertain. Never include private conversations, credentials, individual subscriber profiles or a copied agency script library.

Use an accessible document or portfolio page with descriptive section labels. Open the link in a private browser window and check that a reviewer can read it without signing in, requesting access or downloading an archive. Review comments and revision history too: confidential names can remain in those places even when the final text looks clean. Remove unnecessary metadata and abandoned attachments.

If you use a writing tool, describe your process honestly when asked. Do not paste protected client information into an unapproved service. The relevant evidence is your ability to make and explain sound decisions. A polished sample whose origin you cannot explain will not help a team trust you with creator voice and sensitive operational information.

Package the portfolio around a hiring decision

Write a short cover note that points to specific pieces. State your relevant experience, the languages you write and a realistic work window. For Bunny, native-level written English and at least one year of relevant experience are required. German and Spanish are useful additions. Do not replace evidence with claims such as “I can write in any voice” or “my copy always converts.”

Explain how you would respond to a creator rejecting a line. Include a change log in the fictional library and show the retired version clearly. Add usage notes for team leads: intended audience, offer, approved price placeholder, exclusions and stop conditions. These details reveal whether your work is practical for other people to use under ordinary time pressure.

Before submission, check spelling, link access, sample labels and factual consistency. Keep your expectations clear about revisions, output and payment. The public assessment uses fictional data and remains non-explicit; humans review the submission. A portfolio supports an application, but does not promise an offer or establish compensation. Consult the live vacancy for the current hiring status and agreed terms.

Practice with a fictional worksheet

Ask a reviewer to spend a few minutes locating your strongest sample, its brief, your contribution and its fictional or real status. Record where they hesitate. Improve the contents list and labels before adding more work. Then test the sharing link while signed out and inspect comments, attachments and revision history for confidential details. This review checks whether your evidence is usable by someone who has never spoken with you. A clear portfolio helps the hiring team assess craft without guessing the origin of a sample.

Questions about this topic

Are SFW portfolio samples sufficient?

Yes for Bunny’s copywriter application. Use product, email or persona samples that show voice control, offer structure, sequencing and revision. Explain the relevance rather than adding explicit material.

Can fictional samples replace real results?

They can demonstrate reasoning, but they are not evidence of commercial performance. Label them as fictional and show how you would test the work without claiming sales it never generated.

Should I include private subscriber screenshots?

No. Do not share private conversations, identities, credentials or confidential agency materials. Use a fictional reconstruction that preserves the writing problem without exposing someone else’s information.

What should a caption sample include?

Show the brief, audience, approved facts, caption, price treatment and optional CTA. Explain the hypothesis and include use conditions so another teammate understands when the text is appropriate.

How do I show revision skill?

Include a rejected line, the feedback and a revised version. Explain the boundary or misunderstanding you corrected, then show how the guide and affected library versions would be updated.

How should I share the portfolio?

Use an accessible link with a clear contents list. Test it while signed out. Remove confidential comments and metadata, and make fictional labels and limitations visible next to the relevant sample.
